Clearing and Forwarding General Manager Wanted

A new company in logistics and supply chain management is looking for a General Manager. The General Manager will take full responsibility of setting up a clearing and forwarding unit within the company.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up an efficient clearing and forwarding unit within the company.
• Ensure all regulatory requirements to engage in clearing and forwarding business are met.
• Identify opportunities to grow and source for clients.
• Negotiate with shipping lines, airlines, transporters and agents.
• Manage customer relationships.
• Oversee the entire clearing and forwarding process to ensure timely delivery of services.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in business, logistics or related field.
• Diploma in clearing and forwarding.
• 5 years relevant experience at a managerial or supervisory level.
• Good communication skills.
• High integrity
• Team player.
• Customer focused.
• A thorough knowledge and understanding of customs legislation, tariffs, import/export documentation, customs clearance, bond management and customs declaration will be required.
