Coffee Farmers to Benefit from New Coffee Factory in Nairobi

Kenyan coffee farmers are set to benefit from a coffee roasting factory that will soon be put up in Nairobi by a Darnish firm.

The Darnish Investment Firm (IFU) is a chain of supermarkets named Coop Danmark that have been put up more than 1,200 outlets across different parts of the world. A coffee roasting machine and a packaging machine have already been ordered and by mid next year, they will be I the country.

The East African Director of IFU Mr. Henrik Frosig stated that the project will be able to improve the local business community and the economy of the country since the raw coffee seeds will be sourced locally adding that they will be processing a total of 4,000 tonnes every year.

The location where the factory is to be put up has not yet been decided though the director said that they are thinking of putting it near the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) for easy exportation process.

About Sh.15 billion will be invested in Kenya in the coming five years by Denmark. A large percentage of this cash is meant to support many of the sustainable projects in the country, promoting employment and help in the growth of the economy.

The Darnish government has also promised to invest in businesses that will be able to boost the heath sector in the country and good governance. It has added that it will be on the fore front to ensure that the private sector from both countries work as one.

Recently, four out of the many Kenyan coffee brands were ranked among the top 30 brands that are used worldwide. This was done during an analysis which took place in the United States.

Among the coffee brands from Kenya that took top positions included Kenya Gachatha AA, Kenya AA Kgwandi Estate and Nyeri Pea berry.

Selection of the best coffee brands globally was based on their quality, value, distinctiveness and uniqueness of style, certification and general rarity.
