DStv and Disney will be opening Disney Channel to Family and Access packages from 5 September to 9 October 2016 to celebrate Disney Channel’s (DStv Channel 303) 10th birthday on DStv.

Customers can look forward to a month of celebrations, unwrapping the very latest and greatest programming from Disney Channel, including returning seasons of fan favourites and brand new live-action and animation series.

Disney’s 100th DCOM (Disney Channel Original Movie), Adventures in Babysitting will premiere on 23 September at 05:25pm CAT. Sabrina Carpenter (Girl Meets World) and Sofia Carson (Descendants) join forces in this contemporary re-imagined tale of the hugely popular 1980s blockbuster with the same name. This live-action adventure comedy brings together two unlikely friends when a tedious evening for two contentious babysitters turns into an exciting journey in the big city as they hunt for one of the kids who somehow snuck away.

To build excitement for Adventures in Babysitting, Disney Channel will showcase some of the best DCOMs every weekend at 05:25pm CAT. In addition, viewers will get the chance to vote for their top three DCOMs via the Disney Africa Facebook Page and the official Disney website, with the selection airing from 19 – 21 September at 05:25pm CAT.

Stuck in the Middle is a brand new live-action comedy series that premieres on 22 September at 06:15pm CAT and follows 12-year-old Harley, who is the ultimate middle child, stuck in the middle of seven kids. It’s chaos times seven, but Harley realizes guts, ingenuity and a seat near the mashed potatoes make living large a whole lot of fun. Stuck in the Middle will be joined in the Thank Disney It’s Thursday slot (05:25pm CAT – 07:05pm CAT) by new episodes of fan favourites Alex & Co, Girl Meets World, and Mako Mermaids, with season finales of Backstage and Austin & Ally.

Also joining the Thank Disney It’s Thursday block is Disney’s first ever African long-form series production, Disney Cookabout, the comedic adventure game-show shot in South Africa that uses food preparation, cooking and outdoor exploration to showcase local ingredients and a fun-filled approach to healthy eating. Catch it each Thursday at 06:40PM cat from 8 September.

Not to be missed is the sneak peek into Disney Channel’s upcoming series Bizaardvark – the side-splitting comedic adventures of two quirky 13-year-old best friends who write funny songs and create music videos for their online channel, and their quest to become online stars.

Together with some of Disney and Disney•Pixar’s most popular films, such as Full Out, A Bug’s Life and Ratatouille, September is going to be a full of festive fun as Disney Channel celebrates 10 years on DStv.

Fans can get in on the birthday celebrations by using the hashtag #DisneyChannel10, connecting to www.facebook.com/DisneyinAfrica and www.disney.co.za.
