Kenya Airways Doing Well Despite Negative Publicity

Kenya Airways is doing well at the stock market despite the recent negative publicity that has been going both in the main stream media and the social media.

Kenya Airways has not been performing badly at the Nairobi Security Exchange. On several occasions, the company has been featuring among the top gainers of the day at the NSE and at sometimes giving the most traded in shares of the day.

On Thursday, at the Nairobi Security Exchange, Kenya Airways was among companies that provided stocks that were the most traded in at the market. The airline came ahead of Kenya Commercial Bank and after Cooperative Bank of Kenya posting a volume of 999,100 shares with a market capital of 6.14 billion.

In the past one week, the airline has been painted in the bad light especially on the social media but despite all these, the management is optimistic that the once vibrant Pride of Africa is roaring back strongly.

Already the Operation Pride which is in the process of being implemented ins yielding positive results and according to the airline’s management, the results will be visible in the next half-year financial results.

The negative conversation going on online has no facts in it. Official documents indicate that as the year that ended 31st March 2016, the operating results for the airline has improved by 75 percent and that by the end of September, the Operation Pride had led to the implementation of 40 percent targeted recurring cash impact as well as 36 percent of the one-time cash impact.

The airline is now operating over 150 flights per day and the On Time Performance (OTP) for the week ending October 2nd stood at 73 percent for the entire network and 81 percent for the domestic network.

Kenya Airways is coming back to profitability and it is coming fast and in the next 6 to 12 months, the profits will start trickling in.
