Road that divides: Kibera slum braces for battle in Court

A Kenyan Court will next week (18 October) hear a case brought before them by Kibra residents who have opposed plans by the government to construct a road intended to pass through the slum and connect Yaya Centre and Langata.

The case will highlight the precarious situation faced by slum dwellers globally who have no legal rights to the land they have occupied for decades, thwarting their efforts to invest in essential services, like education, to better their lives.
