Finger Millet Retailing Highest in Isiolo; Lowest in Nairobi and Nakuru

Finger millet is retailing highest in Isiolo at 9000 shillings for a 90-kilogram bag. The same quantity is being sold at a price of 5,800 shillings in Nairobi and Nakuru respectively.

The market price for a 90-kilogram bag of dry maize has been going up as time goes by since the harvest season in October 2016. Currently, the bag is being sold as follows in different towns across the country: 3,600 shillings in Kisumu, Malindi and Isiolo respectively, 3,000 shillings in Nairobi, 2,700 shillings in Eldoret and 2,500 shillings in Nakuru.

A 126 bag of cabbages is sold as follows: 1,600 shillings in Eldoret and Malindi respectively, 1,500 shillings in Nairobi and Kisumu respectively, 1,400 shillings in Isiolo and 1,200 shillings in Nakuru.

Tomatoes are becoming scarce on our markets and with the dry season around, they might continue diminishing as prices go up. A 64-kilogram bag of tomatoes is being retailed as follows: 5,600 shillings in Eldoret, which is the highest market price, 4,000 shillings in Kisumu, 3,800 shillings in Nairobi, 3,000 shillings in Nakuru and Isiolo and 2080 shillings in Malindi.
