Dry Maize Retailing Highest in Kisumu and Lowest in Eldoret

A 90-kilogram bag of dry maize is retailing highest in Kisumu and lowest in Eldoret. The market price in Kisumu is currently 4,400 shillings while in Eldoret the same commodity is retailing at 3,200 shillings.

Finger millet on the other hand was being sold at 8,100 shillings in Imenti for a 90-kilogram bag. Other towns had the following prices on the same: 8,000 shillings in Kisumu, 7,650 shillings in Mombasa, 7,200 shilling in Nairobi and 7,000 shillings in Nakuru.

A 50-kilogram bag of white Irish potatoes retailed at 3,500 shillings in Nakuru, 3,000 shillings in Kisumu and Nairobi respectively, 2,500 shillings in Mombasa, 2,200 shillings in Imenti and 2,000 shillings in Eldoret.

A 98-kilogram bag of sweet potatoes was being sold highest in Mombasa at 3,900 shillings and lowest in Eldoret at 2,200 shillings. Other selected towns had the following market prices on the same commodity: 3,200 shillings in Nairobi, 3,000 shillings in Nakuru, 2,800 shillings in Kisumu and 2,700 shillings in Imenti.
