Sorghum Retailing Highest in Eldoret and Lowest in Mombasa

A 90-kilogram bag of sorghum was retailing highest in Eldoret and lowest in Mombasa. In Eldoret, the cereal was being sold at 6,750 shillings while in Mombasa, the same quantity went at 4,050 shillings.

A 90-kilogram bag of dry maize, on the other hand, was being sold as follows: 5,200 shillings in Kisumu, 4,750 shillings in Mombasa, 4,600 shillings in Nairobi, 4,500 shillings in Embu, 4,400 shillings in Kitale and 4,000 shillings in Nakuru and Eldoret respectively.

A 110-kilogram bag of groundnuts had the following market prices in selected towns across the country: 17,600 shillings in Mombasa, 16,500 shillings in Embu, 14,300 shillings in Kitale, 14,200 shillings in Nairobi, 13,750 shillings in Nakuru, 13,000 shillings in Kisumu and 12,600 shillings in Eldoret.

Mwitemania beans and Rosecoco had almost the same market price for a 90-kilogram bag except for Mombasa, Embu, and Kisumu.

Green gram, on the other hand, was also available on the market and it was retailing as follows for a 90-kilogram bag, 13,500 shillings in Eldoret, 12,600 shillings in Kitale, 11,200 shillings in Kisumu, 10,350 shillings in Mombasa, 8,550 shillings in Nairobi, 7,600 shillings in Embu and 7,200 shillings in Nakuru.
