STN TV launches on DStv

MultiChoice is delighted to announce the launch of STN TV, a new vernacular TV station on DStv in Kenya, Somalia, Tanzania, Uganda, and Djibouti. STN TV is an urban 24-hour general entertainment station that broadcasts in Somali, Borana, and Swahili and has to program for the whole family.

STN TV has a programming lineup that includes news, interactive shows, entertainment, features, all broadcast in Borana, Somalia and Swahili language. STN TV will cater for the burgeoning vernacular television viewers that appreciate the local content.

MultiChoice Regional Director, Stephen Isaboke said, “The appreciation for local content is growing and the addition of STN TV on our platforms will offer more variety to our customers as we make great entertainment more accessible. STN TV will be available to a large number of subscribers in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Somalia and Djibouti on all the DStv packages. The launch of STN TV is a step in the right direction in our quest to providing content responsive to the market.”

According to STN TV CEO Mohamed Osman, the partnership with STN TV on DStv is a testament to MultiChoice’s commitment to providing viewers with increased local programming. Osman added that the launch of the station on DStv will provide relevant content for Kenyans in their first language as a response to the growing market need for increased access to information.

STN TV is available on all packages on DStv – Access, Family, Compact, Compact Plus and Premium on channel 265.
