A 90kg Bag of Maize Averagely Selling at 4,650 Despite Government Intervention

A 90-kilogram bag of maize is currently retailing at an average market price of 4,650 shillings, with the highest price being 5,200 shillings in Kisumu while the lowest market price stood at 4,000 shillings in Nakuru.

A 90-kilogram bag of finger millet, on the other hand, was retailing averagely at 8,183 shillings across the country with prices on selected town as follows: 9,600 in Kisumu, 9,000 shillings in Mombasa, 8,100

shillings in Nairobi and Kitale respectively, 8,000 shillings in Nakuru, and 6,300 shillings in Eldoret.

A 90-kilogram bag of the green gram was being sold at an average market price of 10,425 shillings. The prices for selected markets was as follows: 13,500 shillings in Eldoret, 12,600 shillings in Kitale, 10,350 shillings in Mombasa, 10,000 shillings in 8,500 shillings in Nairobi and 7,600 shillings in Nakuru.

On the other hand, a 110-kilogram bag of groundnuts was being sold as follows, 16,500 shillings in Kitale, 15,400 shillings in Mombasa, 13,000 shillings in Kisumu, 12,800 shillings in Nairobi, 12,600 shillings in Eldoret, and 12,100 shillings in Nakuru.
