Dry Maize Retailing Highest in Kisumu and Lowest in Nakuru

A 90-kilogram bag of dry maize was retailing at an average price of 4,200 shillings across the country on July August 2017.

The prices were as follows: 4,800 shillings in Kisumu, 4,500 shillings in Kitale, 4,300 shillings in Nairobi, Mombasa and Eldoret, 4,000 shillings in Kakamega and 3,200 shillings in Nakuru.

A 90-kilogram bag of finger millet, on the other hand, was being sold as follows: 9,600 shillings in Kisumu, 9,000 shillings in Mombasa, 8,100 shillings in Nairobi, Eldoret and Kitale respectively, 7,000 shillings in Nakuru and 6,000 shillings in Kakamega.

An 110-kilogram bag of groundnuts was being sold at an average market price of 12,046 shillings across the country. Kitale town had the highest price of 14,300shillings while Nakuru had the least price of 11,000 shillings for the same quantity.

Rosecoco beans, on the other hand, was being sold as follows: 10,800 shillings in Eldoret, 7,650 shillings in Nairobi, 7,200 shillings in Kisumu, 6,500 shillings in Mombasa, 5,500 shillings in Nakuru, 4,800 shillings in Kakamega and 4,500 shillings in Kitale.

Njahi was also available in most of the town with the following prices for a 90-kilogram bag. 10,800 shillings in Kitale, 13,500 shillings in Eldoret, 9000 shillings in Nakuru and Mombasa respectively and 9,400 shillings in Nairobi.
