Fuel prices have reduced marginally in the latest Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) price review for the period July 15th – August 14th.

ERC has reduced the  price of super petrol by KSh1.64, diesel by KSh2.43 and kerosene by KSh2.48 per litre.

ERC says the move follows the decrease in landed costs of imported fuel in June.

“Average landed cost of imported Super Petrol decreased by 4.68 percent diesel by 5.69 percent and kerosene decreased by 5.69 percent,” ERC says.

From Saturday, motorists in Nairobi will buy super Petrol at KSh97.10 per litre, diesel at KSh84.46 per litre and KSh62.56 per litre for the next one month.

In the last review, fuel pump prices in Nairobi for Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene decreased by KSh 0.86, KSh 1.16 and KSh 0.23 per litre, respectively.

“The purpose of the fuel pricing regulations is to cap the pump prices of the products which are already in the country, so that the importation and other prudently incurred costs are recovered, while ensuring reasonable prices to consumers,” says ERC.
