The KCB Foundation in partnership with Bidco Africa has released 10 Million Shillings to over 500 youth in Bungoma to enable them to grow Sunflower and Soya beans.

Bidco Africa will buy their produce guaranteeing the young farmers an income to enable them to repay their loans and make a profit.

On the other hand, KCB has trained over 3000 young farmers on Soya and Sunflower and will fund the entire group as part of its 2jiajiri program.

Bidco Agribusiness Lead John Kariuki said that the firm was pleased to play a role in lifting youth out of poverty.

“Bidco believes in inclusive growth and transforming farming into agribusiness. This partnership enables us to help change the lives of these young farmers and we look forward to a fruitful partnership with them for many seasons,” said Kariuki.

This partnership is a complete 360 circuit where there will be funding, market access and capacity building in one package.
