In its quest to profitability, Family Bank suspends afternoon tea

Family Bank has suspended provision of its company sponsored afternoon Tea to focus on profitability a move they termed as “hard choice”.

In a memo, the bank said it has been forced to focus on profitability through services to customers.

“Beginning today we have suspended company sponsored afternoon tea and only morning tea will be served,” said procurement and logistics officer Muchane Ndungu.

“We have had to make some very hard choices. We have been forced to re-look every one of our cost lines and re-evaluate where we can make further reductions to restore the bank back to profitability.”

Ndungu said the decision was not taken lightly and that it followed “a lot of thought and debate”.

“Please contact me so we can discuss how ideas can be implemented. It is imperative that we get back to profitability as soon as possible.”
