South Africa’s main opposition party leader Mmusi Maimane is leading a team that will ensure water keeps running in Cape Town from April 12.
On that day, Day Zero, as it is termed, it has been predicted that taps will be dry and thus the push from the opposition leader to see that the move does not succeed as planned.
The DA’s plan to keep the taps running comes amid infighting within the Cape Town Metropolitan Council, where Mayor Patricia De Lille has been stripped of responsibility for responding to the water crisis. READ MORE.
Ailing ZISCO in Zimbabwe Set To Roll Again as New Investor Prepares to Take Over
$ 500 million of debt is set to be taken by Zimbabwe from state-owned Zimbabwe Iron and Steel Company (ZISCO) to pave way for another investor who will be taking over the company.

The Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund completed the seventh and last review of Tanzania’s economic performance on January 10, 2018, indicating that recent economic performance has been mixed and the outlook is subject to emerging risks. A Court In Rwanda Reduces Sentence for a Genocide Convict
The High Court in Kigali on Wednesday commuted to 25 years the life sentence that had been handed to Dr. Jean Damascène Kabilima after he was found guilty of participating in the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. Kabilima had appealed against a life sentence given to him by the Nyamagabe Intermediate Court last summer. READ MORE.
