Family Bank Posts 62% Profit Jump to KES 3.7 Billion, Balance Sheet Grows 24% to KES 238.9 Billion

Family Bank Group has posted a 62% jump in Profit After Tax to KES 3.7 billion for the six months ended June 30, 2026, up from KES 2.2 billion recorded in the first half of 2025.

The strong performance was underpinned by robust balance sheet expansion and disciplined cost management, reflecting continued execution of the Bank’s 2025–2029 strategy. The results come as Family Bank builds on the momentum of its June 2026 listing on the Nairobi Securities Exchange.

The Bank’s balance sheet strengthened significantly, with total assets growing by 24% to KES 238.9 billion, driven by increased lending to private sector. During the period, the Bank disbursed KES 35.6 billion to retail and MSME customers and KES 15.2 billion to commercial customers.

“Our strong first-half of the year results reflect the resilience of our business, disciplined execution and continued focus on our customers. We have strengthened the balance sheet, grown the income streams and maintained strong capital and liquidity positions, while continuing to invest in our people, technology and distribution network,” said Family Bank CEO Nancy Njau.

Net Interest Income rose by 41% to KES 9.7 billion, supported by growth in interest income from loans and advances to customers.

“Our focus remains on executing the objectives of the 2025–2029 strategic plan, deepening support for retail, MSME and commercial customers, and delivering world-class service anchored on sustainable long-term growth,” she said.

Customer deposits grew by 20% to KES 180.2 billion, supported by the Bank’s network optimization strategy as well as continued customer engagement.

Operating expenses increased by 11% to KES 7.4 billion, reflecting investments in technology and people, as well as continued branch optimization.

The Bank’s total capital and liquidity ratios remained strong and well above regulatory requirements.
