Express Emerges as Top Gainer as Umeme Tails

The top gainer of the day at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) was Express with a gain of 9.76 percent at the price of 4.50 shillings per share followed by Kenya Airways with 8.11 percent at the price of 8.00 shillings per share.

Home Afrika, Co-operative Bank Kenya, and Stanlib Fahari Income-REIT gained 7.69, 7.53 and 6.38 percent at the price of 0.70, 15.00 and 10.00 shillings per share respectively.

The top loser of the day was Umeme and the East African Cables who lost 10.00 percent each at the price of 8.55 and 2.70 shillings per share respectively.

Uchumi Supermarket, Deacons (East Africa) and Total Kenya lost 9.09, 8.33 and 6.90 percent at the price of 1.00, 0.55 and 27.00 shillings per share respectively.

Safaricom PLC sustained its position as the top mover of the day after selling 7.50 million shares during the session followed by Equity Group with 5.26 million shares.

Kenya Commercial Bank and Kenya Power and Lighting Company sold 1.82 and 1.46 million shares respectively while Kenya Electricity Generating Company sold 727,300 shares.
