Low Supply Results to an Increase on Green Gram Prices in Kitale

A 90-kilogram bag of Green gram is retailing highest in Kitale at 10,800 shillings and lowest in Mombasa and Nakuru at 5,400 shillings.

Kitale has the highest market price of Green Gram due to a decline in the supply of the commodity.  Eldoret has a market price of 9,900 shillings, 8,000 shillings in Kisumu and 6,750 shillings in Nairobi.

A 110-kilogram bag of Groundnuts is being sold at 14,300 shillings in Kitale, 10,800 shillings in Eldoret, 10,120 shillings in Mombasa, 10,000 shillings in Nairobi, 8,500 shillings in Nakuru and 8,000 shillings in Kisumu.

As can be seen from the table below, a 90-kilogram bag of both Rosecoco and Mwitemania beans have almost the same market prices in various towns like Eldoret and Kitale where they are retailing at 6,750 shillings and 5,000 shillings respectively.

A 51-kilogram bag of Fresh Peas is retailing at 3,300 shillings in Nairobi, 2,500 shillings in Kisumu and Nakuru, 2,000 shillings in Mombasa and Kitale and 1,530 shillings in Eldoret.
