Tomatoes Retailing at an Average Market Price of Ksh.5,650 Across the Country

A 64-kilogram bag of tomatoes is retailing at an average market price of 5,650 across the country with the highest price being 8,000 shillings in Kisumu and lowest being 4,000 shillings in Busia and Kitale.

The same 64-kilogram bag of tomatoes is being sold at 6,500 shillings in Eldoret, 6,000 shillings in Isiolo, 5,500 shillings in Nairobi and 5,000 shillings in Mombasa and Nakuru respectively.

A 142-kilogram bag of dry onions is going at 4,000 shillings in Kitale, 3,800 shillings in Mombasa, 2,700 shillings in Nairobi, 1,500 shillings in Eldoret and 1,000 shillings in Nakuru.

The table below gives a summary of market prices for different commodities in selected towns across the country:

Looking at the vegetable, a 126-kilogram bag of cabbages is being sold at 5,040 shillings in Busia, 2,500 shillings in Mombasa, 1,800 shillings in Kitale, 1,650 shillings in Nairobi, 1,400 shillings in Eldoret, 1,200 shillings in Kisumu and 1,000 shillings in Nakuru and Isiolo respectively.
