Hohos Retailing Averagely at Ksh. 3,020 per 50 Kgs

Capsicums, commonly known as Hohos are being sold at an average market price of 3,020 shillings per 50 Kgs across the country.

Nairobi and Nakuru currently have the highest market price for Hohos, with a 50Kg bag being sold at 3,500 shillings in both towns.

In Eldoret, the same 50Kg bag of Hoho is being sold at 3,000 shillings, in Kisumu at 2,600 shillings and in Mombasa at 2,500 shillings.

Last year, during the same period, the average price of Hoho across the country was 3,244 shillings for a 50Kg bag.

Mombasa had the highest market price of Hohos, with a 50Kg bag retailing at 3,500 shillings. In Nairobi, the same amount was being sold at 2,750 shillings.

Meanwhile, a 44Kg bag of Brinjals, commonly known as Biringanya, is retailing at 2,203 shillings with Nakuru having the highest market price of 3,000 shillings.

In Nairobi, a 44Kg bag of Biringanya is being sold at 2,550 shillings while in Mombasa, it is being sold at 1,760 shillings.

The average market price of Biringanya last year, during the same period, was 2,365 shillings per 44 Kgs.

Chilies, on the other hand, are being sold at an average price of 2,900 shillings per 38Kgs across the Kenyan markets.

A 38Kg bag of chilies is going for 4,000 shillings in Nakuru, which is the highest market price in all six markets observed.

The lowest market price for chilies is in Kisumu, where a 38Kg bag is going for only 1,500 shillings.

Nairobi and Mombasa markets are selling a 38Kg bag of chilies at 2,600 shillings and 3,500 shillings respectively.

Last year, during the same period, a 38Kg bag of chilies was being sold at an average price of 2,904 shillings.
