Arsene Wenger Could Be The New Bayern Munich Manager

German side Bayern Munich are in search of a new manager and speculations have it that they are holding talks with former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.

Bayern Munich sacked their manager Nico Kovac earlier during the week and Arsene Wenger is likely to take the position as the new manager for the German giants.

Since the beginning of the 2019/2020 campaign, Bayer Munich have not been in good form as they have had a poor start, gaining 18 points from ten matches in the Bundesliga.

Bayern Munich are now placed fourth in the Bundesliga table, four points behind leaders Borussia Monchengladbach.

In their last match with Nico Kovac in charge, Bayern lost 5-1 to Eintracht which was one of the biggest losses in decades.

To fill the vacant position left by Nico Kovac, Bayern are in search of a new manager and Arsene Wenger is seen as one of the suitable targets.

Arsene Wenger said he will be talking with Bayern officials but the club’s executive board chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge commented that Wenger is still considered ‘unsuitable’ for the position.

“On Wednesday afternoon, Rummenigge called me. I could not answer and by politeness, I called him back,” Wenger said.

“He was in his car going to the game against Olympiakos. We talked for four to five minutes’ maximum and he told me they had assigned [Hans-Dieter] Flick to be the coach – he will manage the next two games.”

“He [Rummenigge] asked me if I would be interested because they are looking for a coach. I told him I didn’t have any thoughts about it – it needs some time to have a think about it.” Wenger added.

If Wenger becomes the new Bayern Munich manager, he will be faced with a tough task of making the German giants to recover from their poor form.

Wenger is now 70 years old and will be among the oldest managers if returns to man Bayern Munich’s squad.
