KCPE 2019 Results To Be Out This Week As Marking Ends

The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results are expected to be out anytime this week according to source from Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC).

The marking of the exam was completed during the week and the more than 7,000 examiners who were tasked with marking English Composition and Kiswahili Insha handed in their marks.

The marks have already been compiled and everything is set for release,” said the source at KNEC.

KNEC is now waiting on the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Professor George Magoha and his to make the results ready for release.

The release of KCPE 2019 results will also depend on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s diary as the results are to be presented to him first before the official release.

More than one million candidates sat for the KCPE exam this year that took three days.

The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) is ongoing and is expected to come to an end on Thursday with the marking set to kick off immediately.

A total of 26,597 examiners have been selected from various centers to take part in the marking of KCSE.

In 2018, KCPE on November 19 while KCSE was released on November 21. It is expected that KCSE 2019 will be released in the first week of December.

Professor George Magoha said all the results will be out “before Christmas” and that parents will have enough time to plan for those who will be joining form one in 2020.

This year’s KCSE has witnessed numerous cases of attempted theft of exam, especially in Kisii. More than 20 people have been arrested and arraigned for attempting to steal the exam.
