“Kenya now has a total of seven coronavirus cases after a couple that travelled from Spain and another individual that came from Dubai tested positive,” Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has announced.

The couple came to Kenya from Spain through Dubai while the third case confirmed today, 18th March 2020, is of a Burundian who traveled from Dubai to Kenya according to the health CS adding the confirmed cases to seven.

All the seven confirmed coronavirus cases in Kenya are from foreign countries as of now and the government has reiterated that self-quarantine is not optional and that all travelers from other countries are required to.

Any traveler coming into the country must sign a document swearing and binding them to self-quarantine for 14 days so that if they fail to then they are prone to jail terms.

The Coronavirus emergency committee is expected to meet later today at State House where more strict measures will be discussed and agreed upon to control the spread of the deadly virus.
