COVID-19 Updates: 147 New Cases, Kibra 35 As 3 More People Die

Kenya has today, 28th May 2020, reported 147 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases after testing 2,800 samples in the last 24 hours according to Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe.
The 147 newly confirmed cases become the second three-digit figure to be reported after yesterday’s 123 confirmed cases raising the total number of COVID-19 cases in Kenya to 1,618 according to Health CS Mutahi Kagwe.
Kenya has conducted a total of 70,172 tests ever since the first COVID-19 case was reported in the country on March the 13th 2020.
Today’s youngest COVID-19 patient in the last 24 hours is a one-year-old child according to Health CS Mutahi Kagwe.
Notably, Kibra has 35 cases of new cases today being the majority as compared to Mathare which yesterday reported the highest number of cases at 33.
Thirteen more people have been discharged according to Health CS Mutahi Kagwe which has raised the number of recoveries to 421 in the country.
Sadly, three more people have died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours raising the numbers to 58 according to Health CS Mutahi Kagwe who addressed Kenyans from Kiambu’s Tigoni hospital.
Health CS Mutahi Kagwe also donated 1000 N95 masks to the medics of Kiambu county and 200 PPE’s with the County Governor James Nyoro thank the Ministry of Health for the continued support.
Kiambu county government has so far conducted 509 tests of it’s residents according to Governor Nyoro who noted that 39 of those had tested positive for COVID-19.
