COVID-19 Updates: 307 Test Positive In 24 Hours Spiking Cases To 6,673

Kenya has today registered the highest number of COVID-19 cases at 307 after testing 3,390 samples in the last 24 hours according to Health CAS Rashid Aman.

Today, 307 positive COVID-19 cases are the highest ever reported the number of cases since Kenya recorded its first case of the virus with Health CAS Rashid Aman noting that the numbers were indeed a course of concern.

The 3,390 samples that have been tested in the last 24 hours producing 307 COVID-19 positive cases bring the number of samples tested in Kenya in total to 173,355 according to the Health CAS.

The 307 positive COVID-19 cases brings the total number of the viral load to a high of 6,673 with Health CAS Rashid Aman noting that Kenyans had already gone back to old habits and the consequences were high numbers of COVID-19 cases.

The 307 COVID-19 cases announced in the last 24 hours include 18 foreigners with the rest, 289, being Kenyans with all the cases ranging between a one-year-old and an 81-year-old.

Males that are testing positive for COVID-19 in Kenya continue to triple the number of females with today numbers standing at 215 males versus 92 females.

The 307 COVID-19 is spread across Kenya as follows:

Nairobi – 154

Mombasa -38

Machakos -33

Kiambu – 20

Narok -20

Kajiado -14

Busia -10

Nakuru -5

Kericho – 4

Makueni -5

Kilifi- 1

Kisumu -1

Kitui -1

The number of recoveries has increased to 2,089 after the ministry of Health has announced that 50 more people have been discharged in the last 24 hours.

Sadly one person has died of COVID-19 raising the number of fatalities according to Health CAS Rashid Aman to 149 deaths in total.

The 154 COVID-19 deaths registered in Nairobi are 34 from Dagoretti North, 22 from Kibra, 18 from Embakasi central and Lang’ata each, 17 from Starehe, Westlands 14, Embakasi South 10, Embakasi West 7, Kamkunji 5, Dagorreti, Mathare and Makadara 2 cases each, Embakasi Central, Roysambu and Ruaraka one case each.

The 38 COVID-19 cases in Mombasa are 22 in Mvita, Likoni 10,Changamwe 5 and one in Nyali.
