How to Check Form One School Selection and Download Admission Letter

The form one secondary school selections are officially released. Pupils who sat their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) can now check the schools they have been placed in, and parents can easily get the information through an SMS.
The placement is usually done based on merit or the performance of the student. And the secondary schools’ selection is categorized into:
- National Schools
- Extra County School (Formerly Provincial Schools)
- County Schools
To know which secondary school your child has been placed under by the Ministry of Education, here is a quick guide:

Using the SMS Code to Check Form One Selection
To check the secondary schools use the steps below:
- Note down your child’s KCSE INDEX NUMBER
- Compose a text and send the index to 22263
- You will get an SMS NOTIFICATION with the full names of the school the student is selected to join.
Please note that the SMS will cost you 25 shillings every time you send it. The recipient’s code, 22263 works for all networks (Safaricom, Airtel, and Telkom).

How to Download Form One Admission Letter Online
To download your form one admission letter online, follow the steps instructed below:
- Go to: Form One Selection on the Ministry of Education’s official website
- Click on the school selected to join (National, Extra, or County School)
- Select the county and sub-county where type did you KCPE Exams then enter your Index Number
- Click Submit
- At the bottom of the page click ADMISSION LETTER
- Download to your computer then print.
- Take the admission letter to your Head Teacher to stamp it for endorsement.
NOTE: If you are asked for a .go.ke email address and can’t figure what to do next, kindly contact your headmaster. He/she will provide you with one so that you can download your admission letter.

2021 Form One Admission Day Requirements
On the day of admission, a stamped calling letter MUST be presented to the high school or secondary for acceptance. A birth certificate and its copy must also be presented.
New Form One Opening dates: Students are required to report to their respective schools on August 2, 2021.
