Top 10 Secondary Schools That Kids Selected To Join En Masse

The form one selections are out. Kids who sat their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) have been placed in various secondary schools. Some have received shocking invitations to schools with names that have never been heard for years.

But what are the secondary schools that kids really wanted to join for secondary education? Traditionally, one would expect Starehe Boys Centre, Alliance High School, or Moi High School, Kabarak, to take lead. But no. Things were different this time around.

The top school that kids really wanted to join was Nanyuki High School. A total of 154,524 kids applied to join the school. Sadly, the school only has the capacity to accommodate 384 students.

Kabianga High received 142,160 applications, Pangani Girls had 124,598 interested, Nyandarua High 123,688 interested, Alliance Girls had 105,053 apply, Maseno School had 104,581, and Nakuru High School had 100,840.

Here are the top 10 secondary schools that students really wanted to join:

  3. Pangani Girls
  4. Nyandarua High
  5. Alliance Girls
  6. Maseno School
  7. Nakuru High
  8. Friends School Kamusinga
  9. Starehe Boys Centre
  10. Moi High School, Kabarak

Education CS George Magoha has already announced that form one students will report for admissions in various schools on August 2, 2021. This has put parents on the run to ensure that school fees is ready by the time the date falls.

A total of 1,191,616 candidates had registered for the exam but 12,424 were absent during the examination period due to different circumstances.

“In keeping with the 100 percent transition in public schools, 1,171,625 candidates have been placed in secondary schools. This is after excluding inmates, overage candidates, and candidates from refugee camps,” he affirmed

Of the 1,179,192 pupils who sat the KCPE exams most of them; 889,011, scored below 300 out of 500 marks. There were 8,091 candidates who scored over 400 marks with the top candidate, Mumo Faith attaining 433 marks.
