OPPO RENO6 5G: Why It Is Worth Your Money And Time

KEY POINTS
OPPO’s exclusive Reno Glow effect has been a central part of the overall design of the Reno series and has evolved together with the series through each iteration.
OPPO released another new phone; the OPPO RENO6 5G that has become the new talk of the town. This does not mean that you should abandon your iconic OPPO RENO5, but let me tell you, this new release, is worth owning.
OPPO’s exclusive Reno Glow effect has been a central part of the overall design of the Reno series and has evolved together with the series through each iteration.
The Reno Glow design was first introduced on the Reno4 5G Series, where it brought a subtly sparkling finish to the anti-glare glass thanks to OPPO’s unique etching technique.
Running on Android 11, ColorOS 11.3, RENO6 5G comes with 8 or 12GB RAM that has a dimensity of 900 5G, a 64MP camera, and a massive 4300mAh battery. This piece breaks it down into various major categories for you to make a decision.
Overall features

Camera
In the world of documenting memories, having a powerful camera is something one will always want to have. OPPO RENO6 5G comes with a 64MP Main Camera, 8MP Ultra Wide-angle Camera, and 2MP Macro Camera, and in the front, a 32-megapixel camera for selfies.

Daylight photos have very good details and colors. The ultra-wide camera had a cooler color tone compared to the main one, and details were a bit weaker, especially along the edges of the frame.
Landscapes and close-ups in low light were also above average. Night mode did a good job in cleaning up the noise in darker regions of images, and it even made shots taken with the ultra-wide camera usable. At the same time, Selfies captured under natural light looked good once I turned off the face smoothing filter.
Design

This phone has one of the greatest designs. The curved-edge display and glossy frame have been traded in for flat edges and a matte finished metal frame with exposed antenna bands.
For those who love class, this design gives off strong iPhone 12 vibes, but it really seems to work in the Reno 6’s favor.
The body has great buttons. At the bottom, you’ll find the SIM tray, USB Type-C port, and single loudspeaker. The texture of the glass back feels great and doesn’t attract any fingerprints. The camera cluster looks neat and matches the overall aesthetic of the phone.
In addition to its thin and light body, the Reno6 Series has also been designed to offer a better grip. On the Reno6 5G, which features a new, ultra-slim retro design and a sleek, flat-edged frame, the phone’s beveled edges can also make it extremely comfortable to hold.
Battery
A phone is its battery. When your phone has a good battery, it gives you time to use your phone for a long time. OPPO RENO6 comes with a 4,300mAh battery capacity. The best part is that you can charge the battery almost completely in half an hour. In case you don’t have Oppo’s fast charger with you, the Reno 6 also supports other fast charging standards such as USB-PD (18W).
Specifications and software
The phone comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC built on a 6nm fabrication process but has a different CPU cluster configuration and GPU. You get two ARM Cortex-A78 cores and six ARM Cortex-A55 cores, while the GPU is an ARM Mali-G68 MC4.
The Oppo Reno 6 also has NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6, and all the expected sensors and satellite navigations systems. You’ll also be happy to note that the Reno 6 supports a total of 13 5G bands, which means it should be ready for whatever network operators end up using in India. The Oppo Reno 6 also has an in-display fingerprint sensor, which works very well.
