From November 1, 2021, WhatsApp will stop working on millions of Android and iOS phones in the latest shocking announcement by the Facebook-controlled company.

The phones that will be affected are Android phones that are running on Android 4.0.3 or lower, and Apple iPhones that are running on iOS 9 or older.

The list includes smartphones from Samsung, LG, ZTE, Huawei, Sony, Alcatel, and others. iPhones, on the other hand, include the iPhone SE, iPhone 6S, and iPhone 6S with millions of gadgets already in use.

  4. Galaxy S3 mini

LG Phones and others that will no longer support WhatsApp:

Others include:

Sony’s Xperia Miro, Sony Xperia Neo L, and Xperia Arc S are included in the list, alongside other devices from Alcatel, HTC, Lenovo, and more.

WhatsApp is one of the widely-used social media apps around the world. It is so much in use that various banks around the world, including SAbsa Bank Kenya, have introduced WhatsApp banking.

The company says the phones will continue having WhatsApp but will no longer be receiving updates or any new features that will be coming up.
