Viewers on DStv and GOtv can look forward to even greater sporting variety, with some thrilling action coming their way on ESPN and ESPN 2 from Friday 5 to Thursday 11 November 2021.

DStv and GOtv are your home of the Entertainment and Sports Programming Network.

ESPN

All times EAT

The first live-action on ESPN arrives in the early evening of Friday 5 November, with a Turkish Super Lig clash between Rizespor and Alanyaspor (19:55 LIVE on ESPN). The afternoon of Saturday 6 November features an EFL Championship doubleheader (15:25 and 17:55 LIVE on ESPN), while Sunday 7 November sees a triple dose of Dutch Eredivisie action, as Fortuna Sittard host PSV (16:20 LIVE on ESPN), AZ visit Feyenoord in Rotterdam (18:35 LIVE on ESPN) and champions Ajax welcome Go Ahead Eagles to Amsterdam (21:50 LIVE on ESPN).

Ajax head coach Erik ten Hag has waved off speculation linking him with a move to the Premier League: “I know what I have here. I know who I am working with, I know what the ideas are, I know what goals we have. I’m happy here,” said ten Hag.

“We’re having a lot of success and that happens in a certain way, it gives off a good vibe, and you get credit for that in the Netherlands and also abroad. You know what it is like outside of football rumors… it tells you that we’re doing good work at Ajax. Then interest comes for the players, but also for the coaches. I’m busy with where I am at, that’s at Ajax, that’s where my head and heart are at.”

ESPN will also be your home for the latest news and views from the world of basketball and American football, as ‘NBA Today’ and ‘NFL Live’ are broadcast LIVE on ESPN each evening at 22:00 and 23:00 respectively from Tuesday 9 to Thursday 11 November.

ESPN 2

All times CAT

The first live-action on ESPN 2 this week comes from the NFL Regular Season, as the Indianapolis Colts take on the New York Jets on the morning of Friday 5 November (03:20 LIVE on ESPN 2). The focus remains with American Football on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 November, as ESPN College GameDay and three back-to-back NCAA Games start from 16:00 (LIVE on ESPN 2), before a switch to the Scottish Premiership on Sunday for Dundee v Celtic (14:55 LIVE on ESPN 2).

Celtic have begun to gather momentum under manager Ange Postecoglu, but he has refused to rule any team out of the title race in Scotland: “Are Hearts and Hibs in the title race? I can only go on what’s going on at the moment so I’d have to say, yes. Why not? There is a historical context to these things and a script was already written where people assume it will be followed every year. But it wasn’t that long ago that Leicester won the Premier League.

“I always think if you take football for granted or think you know the script, it invariably gives you an almighty slap in the face. At the moment there are four or five teams close together and they’ll all think they’re capable of having success this year. I see no reason why you would discount any team up there until evidence shows you otherwise.”

The morning of Monday 8 November sees more NFL action, as the  Los Angeles Rams welcome the Tennessee Titans to the ‘City of Angels’ (04:20 LIVE on ESPN 2), while Tuesday 9 November wraps up the ‘gridiron’ for the week with the Pittsburgh Steelers v Chicago Bears (04:15 LIVE on ESPN 2).
