The officers were seeking to have him escorted to DCI so that he could record a statement over a land-grabbing fraudulent case that they have been investigating.
Nairobi-based detectives raided business mogul Jimmy Wanjigi’s Nairobi Westlands offices on the eve of January, 17th 2022.
The raid took place at around 9:30 pm. Sources hint that at the time of the raid, Jimmy Wanjigi was in his office premises but remained indoors for some time.
According to Wanjigi, the officers did not want to address anyone else. Not even his workers and lawyers, but demanded to personally see him.
The officers later gained access into Wanjigi’s offices. They demanded that Wanjigi accompany them to DCI headquarters to record a statement on a matter he (Wanjigi), claims he knew nothing about.

Reports note that the officers were seeking to have him escorted to DCI so that he could record a statement over a land-grabbing fraudulent case that they have been investigating.
Wanjigi has been at the center of a land tussle after two businessmen claimed ownership of a one-acre piece of land on General Mathenge Road in Westlands.
Wanjigi, who has declared intention to vie for the top seat in the country in the upcoming elections, vowed that he would not be intimidated, adding that the raid mirrored a similar incident where his house was raided by police during the 2017 election season. He insists that the raid is political and that he has not committed any crime.
