The CS stated that the ministry will use all the constituency education officials to bring all the students who are home with parents to their nearest day schools.
“All Education officials must mop up students and take them to the nearest day schools because they are free, the government has catered for all students' needs and all a child needs is a uniform.”
Education Cabinet Secretary Prof George Magoha has issued a new directive to all parents to ensure that all students who performed well but have not joined various secondary schools of their choices due to lack of school fees are enrolled in day schools with immediate effect.
The CS stated that the ministry will use all the constituency education officials to bring all the students who are home with parents to their nearest day schools.
“All Education officials must mop up students and take them to the nearest day institutions because they are free, the government has catered for all students’ needs and all a child needs is a uniform,” Stated Magoha.
This comes just a few weeks after the education stakeholders decried a large number of students yet to be enrolled in their respective secondary schools.
The exercise that is set to start on Monday 23rd May 2021 is set to bring on board a significant number of students whose parents have been claiming they do not have tuition fees required in various schools.
Some parents have denounced the cost of education in the country, alleging that school leaders are making exorbitant demands, including raising tuition fees.

That plus the fact that the CS stated a few weeks ago that the ministry was not going to allow any form one transfer and that students were to report to the respective schools they were placed.
This was in response to speculations that parents were keeping students at home in hope of future transfer to other schools.
Magoha however, said that despite the institutions to which the Class 8 leavers are called, all schools across the country are equally funded. Parents should, therefore, have nothing to worry about in terms of their children getting the best education.
