Kenyan roads are claiming lives more than any other illness in the country if the latest stats by the national police are something to go by. Breadwinners are dying, generations wiped, kids left orphans and many left crippled forever with no one to turn to.

“The Inspector-General of Police and the NTSA Director-General has therefore directed a joint multi-agency crackdown to weed out all noncompliant motor vehicles and motorists, who are violating the Traffic Act and related laws. The directive takes immediate effect,” said the police.

Both the NTSA and the Traffic Police have been blamed for the increase in road accidents because most of the prefer taking 50 shillings out of a rogue police officer other than compelling them to follow the traffic rules.
