Now, there are three simple ways that one can use to register to become an NSSF Member. They are:

  1. USSD *303*1#
  2. WhatsApp Chat Bot on 0704303303
  3. NSSF Mini App on the M-Pesa App

To help as many Kenyans as possible have an opportunity to register and become NSSF members, the National Social Security Fund has made the registration process absolutely free. One does not have to pay any amount of money to be registered.

With the registration process made simple, easier and accessible, why would you let someone take money from you in the name of registering you?

Why don’t you take a few minutes, follow the simple prompts on USSD for instance, then use whatever you would pay someone else to sell to you a service that is absolutely free, to save?

Picture this; You walk toward someone. He or she says they will help you to register as an NSSF Member. They ask for your phone and then dial *303*1#. Remember they are using your phone and your credit. They follow the prompts with the information you provide them with, and after a few minutes, they are done. Mark you, they could be noting down key data as they register you. They charge you 200 shillings for “helping you register” to be a member. You walk out smiling. Work done.

Why would you pay for a free service? You may think that 200 shillings is not a lot of money but you know what, after registration, your initial investment starts from 200 shillings. Why give someone 200 shillings instead of investing the same as you start your journey with NSSF?

To make matters worse, some of these guys will ask you to give them an additional 200 shillings as your “initial investment”. They will then not deposit the cash in your NSSF account. In the end, they end up pocketing 400 shillings from you. Can you afford to give someone 400 shillings with this economy for a service that is free?

NSSF, as a leading brand in Kenya in social protection, has invested in its systems to ensure that your information, data, and investment are safe. That is why the process to register to be an active member is absolutely free and can be done by you.

Take a moment, understand how the process works and protect your identity as you secure your retirement. Kaa chonjo brathe.
