NCBA Bank Feted As A Great Workplace Environment For One To Work

NCBA Bank was named among the top employers by the Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) during this year’s Employer of the Year Awards, beating other giants even though it was the first time the lender was featured at the awards.

“As first-time participants, NCBA was recognized during this year’s Employer of the Year Awards (EYA) by FKE as 2nd Runners up under the Great Workplace Environment category. Thank you all for making NCBA a Great Place to work. Next year – the Top Overall Award!,” said NCBA in a statement.

NCBA has been at the forefront of opening new branches across the country with the latest one being in Wote Town, Makueni County. These branches have been hailed for promoting financial inclusion in Kenya as well as creating employment opportunities for thousands of Kenyans.

“At NCBA, we believe in fostering financial inclusion, supporting economic growth, and enhancing the prosperity of the communities we serve. Our commitment to these principles has driven us to expand our presence to Makueni County, a region filled with potential and promise,” said Tirus Mwithiga, NCBA Group Director, Retail Banking.

The EYA is an initiative by FKE that is geared towards promoting and encouraging best practices in several categories including Corporate Performance, People Management, and Industrial Relations practices amongst employers in Kenya.

It was established to raise and sustain productivity, enterprise performance, and responsibility in the corporate sector. It provides a platform for identifying, ranking, and recognizing excellence in corporate performance, people management, and industrial relations amongst employers in Kenya.

“As NCBA, we will promote diversity, equity, and inclusion at all levels of our operations: Enhanced board & senior management diversity. We will provide targeted mentorship and skills building for women and youth,” said Monicah Kihia, Group Director for Human Resources and Culture at NCBA Group.

NCBA is among the few players within the country that has achieved 50”50 comprising 50 percent women and 50 percent men, demonstrating the bank’s commitment to gender equality.
