TOT is a tax regime that applies to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with a turnover between Kshs. 1,000,000 and Kshs. 25,000,000 in any year of income.
TOT is payable monthly on or before 20th of the following month at a rate of 3% on gross sales. This means that you only pay tax on the amount of money you receive from your customers, without deducting any expenses.

To register for Turnover Tax, you only need to follow these simple steps:
- log in to iTax using your PIN and password via [iTax]
- Click on the Registration module, select ‘amend PIN details’
- Under section ‘A’, basic information click on yes under the question ‘Do you want to register for TOT?’
- Under the section ‘B’ Obligation details, select the date of registration of TOT and apply.
