Despite having pulled their apps from Google PlayStore, the two apps are still calling, insulting, threatening, and harassing their customers. They are breaching data privacy by calling everyone in the phonebook of the borrower as well as sending them threatening emails.

They are also sending threatening emails to the workplaces of their borrowers threatening to storm such workplaces. Never before in the history of Kenya’s financial sector has such behavior been witnessed. It is as though they know that Data Protection laws in Kenya are weak and that they will bribe their way back into business.

It has also been confirmed that the two apps had operated in Kenya for years without the approval of the Central Bank of Kenya. One way they harass their customers is by spamming their phones with phone calls. They can have 100 people calling you within 5 minutes. They also send endless messages with someone receiving 50 messages per minute from them over the same thing.

“They have made my life hell. They are driving me into depression. That is not the way to treat a customer. They started harassing me two days to the maturity of the loan,” said one devastated user.
