God Speaks To Kenya Again Through Prophet Elvis Mbonye

Have you heard the story? The story of a couple deeply in love, but with a story full of ups and downs. They care for each other fiercely, but their relationship is marked by frequent arguments, breakups, and reunions. Sometimes, they find moments of peace and understanding, the kind that makes everything perfect. But sooner than later, their bond is cracked by misunderstandings and mistakes, causing pain and, worse still, distance. Even in the rocky times, they can’t deny that they love each other. But how do they get back into the bliss of love? For one, love isn’t enough. For the other, love is more than enough. The former makes choices that draw them away from the relationship, and the latter extends love and forgiveness, mercy and grace. Peace hangs in the balance, fragile in her pursuit to invade the air and cast pain aside. The future for them truly depends on a choice.

This is akin to Kenya and the Lord. Their story has in recent years been a sandwich of tension and mistakes, yet the Lord keeps the door of renewal and peace wide open, waiting – hoping – that Kenya would choose right, choose His way, and choose Him.

Kenya has suffered heavy blows of violence and tragedy in the past year; the Gen Z protests against the finance bill that led to the disbanding of Ruto’s entire cabinet in July 2024, and the devastating floods that swept across the leading to over 200 fatalities and displacing 55,000 households. The air seems to cool only for a minute before tragedy hits this nation again. The most recent being protests that were sparked by the death of a 31-year-old blogger and teacher, Albert Omondi Ojwang, who died while in police custody.

Now, while all these may seem to be random incidents with different causes, they all have one thing in common: they stem from Kenya’s rejection of God’s voice. How then do you explain that at the start of 2025, Kenya was relatively peaceful, yet on 7 January 2025, God sent them a prophetic warning through Prophet Elvis Mbonye. Speaking to thousands at the Zoe Grounds, Prophet Elvis shared a dream he had received about Kenya, where he began to feel what he believed was the will of God for the nation: PEACE. However, he said this peace would only last as long as the country followed the voice of God. Prophet Elvis went on to emphasize that if Kenya did not turn and connect to the will of God, this peace would be temporary and trouble would return around June and July with gunshots.

Even though this seemed far-fetched in January when Prophet Elvis Mbonye spoke, just five months later in June 2025, his words began to make sense. Following the arrest and death of 31 31-year-old blogger and teacher Albert Omondi Ojwang while in police custody, Kenya’s youth took to the streets in protest. And as the protests turned violent, with many injured and a 22-year-old hawker killed, the breath of peace Kenya had enjoyed waned away.

It is no coincidence that this unrest erupted in June, just like Prophet Elvis Mbonye had said it would. If there was any doubt that Prophet Elvis Mbonye is the mouthpiece of God, the fulfillment of this prophecy clears that doubt. The Lord made it clear that when a prophet speaks in His name, and it comes to pass, that is the thing that the Lord has spoken. (Deuteronomy 18)

The repeated cycles of unrest in Kenya are a clear sign of spiritual misalignment, of choosing a path other than God’s divine will for them. This prophecy’s fulfilment clearly shows that Kenya has ignored the voice of God by placing political expediency and foreign agendas above righteousness, justice, and national repentance.

God’s words through Prophet Elvis Mbonye ring louder in hindsight: “If they do not heed My voice, and they do not turn and connect to My will, what you are sensing (as peace) will be fleeting.” As warned, the peace was lifted. The extended grace and mercy also waned.

Like the love birds in the story earlier, Kenya shares a deep relationship with the Lord, and despite His unfailing love and patience, the former continually chooses death rather than life. For Kenya, peace hangs in the balance, fragile in her pursuit to invade the air and cast pain aside. The future for them truly depends on a choice.

As the nation stands at a crossroads, it remains to be seen; Kenya will heed the word of God and align with His will. Or will they ignore God and continue in the wave of violence and tragedy? Remember, you can ignore God, but you can’t ignore the consequences of ignoring God!
