KDA Partners With Jubilee Health, BUPA Global for New Diaspora Insurance Cover

The Kenya Diaspora Alliance (KDA), through its subsidiary Kenya Diaspora Alliance Welfare Association (KWA), in partnership with Jubilee Health Insurance, BUPA Global, and Kenbright Insurance Brokers, has launched the Diaspora Medical Insurance Cover, a comprehensive health insurance solution tailored for Kenyans living abroad and their families both in Kenya and overseas.
This development follows the successful rollout of the KWA Group Last Expense Insurance (GLE) cover three years ago, which has since served Kenyans globally by enabling dignified and financially supported end-of-life arrangements. The new medical cover responds to a growing need among Kenyans in the diaspora for sustainable, accessible, and reliable healthcare protection for themselves and their loved ones.
Addressing a Real Community Need
For many years, Kenyans abroad and their families have had the financial and emotional burden of medical emergencies back home. Frequent fundraising appeals highlighted the need for a more dependable and structured healthcare solution.
“This new medical cover is a direct response to what our diaspora members asked for: a trusted system that ensures access to healthcare for their families back home, as well as for themselves wherever they are in the world—without emotional or financial distress,” said Dr. Shem Ochuodho, Global Chair of the Kenya Diaspora Alliance.
Speaking during the launch, Ms. Njeri Jomo, Chief Executive Officer, Jubilee Health Insurance, highlighted the importance of creating health solutions that connect Kenyans abroad to their families back home through inclusive, dependable care systems.
“This partnership is a celebration of connection – of families, cultures, and care that transcend borders. At Jubilee Health, we recognize the diversity of the Kenyan diaspora: parents supporting children back home, sons and daughters ensuring their aging parents receive the care they deserve, and extended families relying on one another.”
“As the local insurance partner, our role is to make that care possible to offer trusted, seamless healthcare access for your loved ones wherever they are in Kenya. Whether it’s a simple clinic visit or specialist treatment, we stand ready to serve every generation of your family.”
Mr. Uditha Jayaratne, CEO and Principal Officer of BUPA Global Kenya, reaffirmed BUPA’s commitment to making global healthcare access simple and borderless.
“At BUPA Global, we understand that health needs don’t stop at borders. Through this partnership, Kenyans living abroad can access care within our network of over 2.4 million healthcare providers worldwide, including leading hospitals and specialists.
We are proud to be the only internationally licensed medical provider in Kenya, supporting Kenyans both at home and abroad. This partnership reaffirms our purpose of helping people live longer, healthier, happier lives, making the world a better place for all.”
