Planning To Fail Or To Flourish?

“We didn’t do anything wrong, but somehow, we lost” – the words of Stephen Elop, the then CEO of Nokia in 2013, when its mobile phone branch was being sold to Microsoft. The rise and fall of Nokia in the smartphone market is a classic case of not only failing to adapt but also riding the tide while failing to forecast what the new demands of the industry would be.
For many people, the beginning of the year has always represented an opportunity for a fresh start – a time to go back to the drawing board and reflect on lessons learned, what to change, what to adapt, and what resolutions one will work towards. For the investors, it could be a time to re-strategize and look for new opportunities to scale up the business. For governments, it is mostly a time to reflect on how the first half of the financial year has gone – what is working, what should change? The Lobbyists are in their boardrooms re-strategizing on who to support in the different elections, who will push their agenda, and who to build relationships with.
All these are valid moves, but we hit a miss when we cannot accurately forecast what will work; where and how we will strike the gold? Steve Jobs had the “Apple Prophets” to forecast what designs and features would work in the new products that would be launched every year. The Kings in Biblical times consulted the Prophets of old before they made any key move, to attack or not to attack. Who do you have on your end? Who does your government consult? In your boardrooms, whose wise counsel are you seeking?
Every first Tuesday at the beginning of every year, Prophet Elvis Mbonye, a Prophet in Uganda, presides over Zoe Fellowship – prophesying what the new year holds for the different governments, sectors, and industries across the globe. Had the lobbyists who approached Raila Odinga known that he would be dead in a short period of time, a lot of resources would have been saved on their end. Guess who had prophesied his death two years prior – Prophet Elvis Mbonye. As at present, a prophecy about the unseating of the reigning Prime Minister of Great Britain looms over his head, the same way this Prophet has prophesied the exit of his four predecessors. Projects by different organizations have been dead upon initial execution; still at birth, at the word of this Prophet – case in point is the rollout of digital financial systems in Africa. At a time when everyone else thought Hillary Clinton would win, Prophet Elvis spoke otherwise and declared that Donald Trump would win the U.S elections. I ask again – who do the governments turn to when they need to decide what direction to take? How will the lobbyists know which camp to back in the different elections and countries world over? Have they recovered from the losses made in the U.S elections?
Politics aside, Prophet Elvis Mbonye has also offered guidance on areas to concentrate on in the different years and in the different countries. Prophecies such as a looming famine in countries like China, Europe, and across Africa, and the need to focus on agriculture, especially maize farming, should be viewed by the individual as guidance on where the gold is, should one choose to take the agricultural route, and to the nations, a time to prepare for the tough times ahead.
So, as you sit in your boardrooms, at your desk, or in your strategic meeting via Zoom or Teams, do you have foresight over the steps you intend to take in 2026? Will you seek out the wise counsel of a man whose record of fulfilled prophecies speaks for itself? Or will you blindly ride the tide like Nokia did and wait for what befalls you?
Prophet Elvis Mbonye will be sharing with us what 2026 and the future look like for the different governments, sectors, and industries across the globe on Tuesday, 6th, 2026, at Zoe Grounds, Kigo Lweza in Uganda. To those who would like to plan for 2026 with foresight, this is my herald call to you to join us that evening as the nations gather to hear from God on which direction to take.
