Mansa-X Special Funds Cross USD 1 Billion Mark, Post Returns of Up to 20.74% in 2025

Mansa-X Special Funds have surpassed USD 1 billion (Sh129 billion) in assets under management, cementing their position as Kenya’s largest special Collective Investment Scheme (CIS) and one of the region’s most diversified fund offerings.

The milestone reflects strong investor inflows across the four Mansa-X Special Fund variants, which are structured to cater to a wide range of investor needs. The funds are available in both conventional and Shariah-compliant formats, and in Kenya Shilling (KES) and US Dollar (USD) options, offering flexibility to local, regional, and international investors.

Performance has been a key driver of the growth. In 2025, Mansa-X delivered its highest returns since inception, with the Mansa-X Special Fund – KES posting an average net return of 20.74%, while the USD-denominated fund returned 13.37%, net. The Mansa-X Shariah Special Fund – KES achieved 17.25%, while its USD counterpart returned 11.64%, net.

Beyond returns, the growth has been supported by disciplined portfolio construction, active fund management, and a strong focus on risk-adjusted returns in an evolving market environment. The availability of both KES and USD options has also strengthened the appeal of the funds for investors seeking currency diversification.

Commenting on the achievement, FA Nahashon Mungai, Executive Director – Global Markets at Standard Investment Bank, said surpassing the USD 1 billion mark reflects strong investor confidence in the fund manager’s strategy and execution. He noted that the focus remains on delivering resilient, long-term value for clients.
