KCPE 2019 Top Student Scores 440 Marks

With the just concluded KCPE results, Ali Munyiri of Damacrest Thogoto school tops the 2019 KCPE exams.

Three candidates tie in the second position with two of them being girls. According to Magoha in the overall performance, male candidates performed better than their female counterparts.

The exams were done from 29^th October to 31 October marking as the shortest time possible between the exam and the release.

A number of 1, 088, 986 pupils sat for the exam with 191,00 professionals marking the exams. ‘The number of candidates scoring 400 marks and above dropped to 9970 marking 0.90% from 11, 559 1.0% from last Year’s results,’ remarked Magoha. He also added that 50.17 percent who sat for the exams were boys and 49.82 were girls.

Male candidates scored better in mathematics, science, and social studies while their female counterparts performed better in English, Kiswahili, and sign language.

The highest candidature was observed in Nairobi, Kakamega, and Nakuru while the lowest candidature was in Lamu, Isiolo, and Samburu.

Parents whose candidates sat the KCPE 2019 examination will be able to know the school their children will join by the 2^nd of December 2019 according to the Cabinet Secretary George Magoha.

“Admission letters will be out by the 2^nd of December to give parents enough time to prepare,” said the Cabinet Secretary.

The selection process for those who will join form one come January 2020 will kick off tomorrow, 19^th November 2019 and letters will be sent to students electronically as it was the case in 2018.

The government has assured parents and candidates that no one will be left out of joining form one come January 2020 as the government strives to achieve the 100 percent transition from primary school to secondary school.
