Kapchorua Tea edges up 9.66 percent to emerge highest market gainer

The NSE 20 and NASI shed a further 18.82 points and 0.86 points respectively to settle at 4,839.60 and 162.35. Kapchorua Tea was the highest market gainer edging up 9.66 percent to close the day at KES 159.00. Crown Berger emerged the top loser, declining by 9.68 percent to close the day at KES 70.00.

The volume of shares traded declined 55.80 percent to close at 13.38mn.Total turnover dipped by 62.71 percent to close at KES 459.53mn. KCB Bank was the largest mover of the day with a turnover of KES 120.52mn representing 26.23 percent of total market turnover.

Foreign buys stood at 50.34 percent of total turnover, while foreign sales stood at 50.81 percent of total turnover

EAC Markets

Uganda: The USE ALSI dropped 1.70 percent to close at 1,966.26 while USE LSI remained constant to close at 324.03. A total of 324,418 shares were traded today. Total turnover came to a closeof UGX 9.9mn.

Rwanda: The RSE ALSI remained constant to close at 220.07 USE RSI rose by 19.38 percent to close at 161.90. Total number of shares traded today was 16,800 shares. Total turnover come to a close of RWF 5.29mn.

Tanzania: The DSEI went up 0.25 percent to close at 2,673.99 while DSE TSI declined 0.27 percent to close at 4,676.89. Africa Barrick Gold went up 0.98 percent to close at TZS 9,310.00 .CRDB Bank was the top loser of the day declining by 2.44 percent to close at TZS 400.00. Total volumes were recorded at 3.35mn shares. Total turnover closed at TZS 1.50bn.
