MultiChoice Kenya hailed as a formidable, awesome brand

MultiChoice Kenya service center at Sarit Mall in Westlands Nairobi will make it easier for its subscriber’s experience.
The service center opened on Friday was described as ‘formidable for the Multi Choice brand’ by Catherine Mbomett, the firm’s Chief Operations Officer.
“Here is an opportunity for you to also understand our greatest products besides just interacting with our staff at the service center.”
“We have are in our fifth year as GOTv and it is really exciting. When we started we never knew how the possibilities could be like. It is incredibly exciting to see we have a 51 percent market share in Kenya which means we are formidable we are really an awesome brand,” she added.
The Center will provide both services for GOtv and DStv.
Speaking at the launch, Anna Othoro,the Nairobi County Executive for Trade and Commerce urged the company to improve its footprint across the country to attract more subscribers.
“One of the things I can say about Dstv, it was a preserve of the few but with time it is not the case, GOtv launched five years ago and now at 51 percent market share, it is a no mean achievement.”

Mr. Philip Wahome, MultiChoice Kenya Corporate Communications, said their market strategy is moving from the premium aspect to mass market. “We are only innovating to improve on the quality of programs for our subscribers and we welcome competition as the two services from GOtv and DStv combined, we have a market share of 80percent in Kenya.”
In June the company launched thirty new GOtv and DStv service centres to supplement existing customer care support provided by the main customer care centre in Nairobi and the technical assistance offered by GOtv ‘Fundis’ and DStv installers countrywide.

Felix Kyengo, GeneralManager GOtv Kenya said, ““The GOtv signal is now in over 30 counties across Kenya. Thus, being the only pay-tv service provider that reaches the highest number of households with TV sets.”
The company also announced a price reduction for subscription to enable subscribers access their favorite channels at more affordable costs.
“Today, our GOtv Value bouquet costs Ksh470 down from KSh650 per month. GOtv Lite bouquet now pays KSh160 per month or Ksh375 per quarter or Ksh840 per annum down from KSh1800. GOtv has over 15 channels while GOtv Value & GOtv Plus has over 30 and 40 channels respectively.”
“With our re-brand, we promise our subscribers more quality, more entertainment, more channels,” said Kyengo.
