Bharti Airtel Africa has been named winner of ‘The most innovative service’ category at the AfricaCom 2016 awards ceremony held in Cape Town, South Africa.

AfricaCom is the largest and most influential Africa focused tech event and this year’s focus was on economic development and social empowerment through digital connectivity.

The award was for the recently introduced service “Airtel Advanced Call Completion” (Adcom), launched in Kenya. The service provides a solution for calls failed due to low balance and aims to keep the customers always connected.

Failed calls due to low balances are an issue that impacts users and affects their day to day life hence the need for a consumer-centric solution.

The failed calls due to low balances mean that customers are unable to complete their call and this solution provides a means to bridge the gap. The service offers low balance customers various options to complete their call. These options include sending the B Party a missed call alert or listening to a funded advertisement and in return get a free call or an option to be directed to the Airtime credit service platform to take a small loan. Airtel partnered with BlackNGreen to bring this service to market.
