The NASI shed 0.63 percent to settle at 135.96, on a turnover of 472.23 million shillings being a reduction by 39.82 from the previous session.

Safaricom Ltd was the top mover for the eighth session in a row with 206.5 million in T/O though a drop by 56.1 percent from Monday’s session, exuding a heavy sell-side for profit-taking investors. The counter dropped 1.2 percent closing at 20.25 shillings. KCB Group Ltd, on the other hand, traded 175.1 million shillings, on unchanged price from Monday’s close.

Foreign activity was at 85.16 percent, slightly lower from the previous session (-0.3%), with Safaricom Ltd (NSE: SCOM) owning 45.1 percent.  KCB Group Ltd (NSE: KCB) recorded the highest net inflows amounting to 2.8 million shillings while East African Breweries Ltd (NSE: EABL) exuded net selling activity 2.1 million shillings). Foreign investors have been net sellers on the latter for the second session in a row this week.

Mumias Sugar Co. Ltd (NSE: MSC) was among the top losers in Tuesday’s session. This follows reports of the suspension of its core business due to cash flow and operational challenges that have marred the sugar miller. Co-operative Bank of Kenya Ltd (NSE: COOP) rallied 5.5 percent in the session to be the top gainer.
