How Creative Kenyans Made Fun of KCB Thika Ksh 50 Million Theft

Two days ago, robbers who appeared to have taken keen lessons from the American crime television series are said to have dug a tunnel, 30 meters long into the Kenya Commercial Bank, Thika Town branch’s main vault and stole more than 50 million shillings.

According to the police, the thugs dug the tunnel from inside a rented stall where they had rented under the disguise of running a bookshop. The stalls are located opposite Thika divisional police headquarters.

Kenyans have been known to be making fun of everything. From running hilarious hashtags and challenges on Twitter to mocking their counterparts in other countries such as Nigeria. The KCB Thika robbery was not an exception. Creative Kenyans took to the social media and brought out their best; creativity.

One Joseph Wakhu on Facebook wrote, “The tunnel the thieves used to access KCB Thika branch and stole 50 million shillings took six months to dig. What do we learn from this? Patience pays.”

Korir Issa, on the other hand, wrote, “The thieves who stole 50 million shillings in Thika operated a bookshop to disguise the major operations that were going on underground. The lesson I learned from this is that work in silence and let your success shout afterward.”

Phillis Andeso posed, “Can you imagine the tunnel the thieves in Thika dug led to the exact location where the main vault is located? Have a goal, sit down, plan for it and set out to achieve it.”

The most interesting comment came from Rachael Nzisa. She said “Kenyan thieves are daring. They dug a tunnel to the bank opposite a police station. The only thing I can learn from this is that don’t let fear or anyone waiver your dream or objective.”

Well, those are Kenyans, expect them to do anything to make themselves happy. Even what happened in Zimbabwe made more fun in Kenya than in Zimbabwe. For instance, some Kenyans were saying that it was so confusing that Kenyans were praying so hard only for their prayers to be answered in Zimbabwe.
