Foreign Investors Dominate the Bourse As Turnover Declines by 8.7%

Foreign investors at the bourse assumed a net selling position during the session on Monday.

According to analysts from Dyer & Blair Investment Bank, foreign investors accounted for 52.3 percent of the total market sales and 43.7 percent of the total market of net buying.

The market turnover at the bourse was down 8.7 percent to USD 7.62 million or an equivalent to 769.2 million shillings from Friday’s trading.

The NSE 20 and NASI declined 0.42 percent and 0.38 percent to close at 3,831.16 and 191.44.

The Kenyan shilling bounced back by gaining traction against the US Dollar by 0.004 percent from the level on Friday to close at 100.98.

The local currency, however, went down against the Sterling Pound by 0.28 percent to 142.77 shillings.

Against the Euro, the Kenya Shilling weakened 0.23 percent from to 124.57 shillings.
