Ogilvy Africa, Africa’s premier integrated communications agency, on Thursday, won a Grand Prix and a Gold Award at the Dubai Lynx International Festival of Creativity 2018 for its campaign, the Most Eligible Bachelor.

After scooping more than 80 awards in various ceremonies in 2017, the agency continued with the winning streak by scooping two top awards at the festival that is the Middle East and North Africa region’s biggest celebration of creative communications.

The campaign, which featured the world’s last Male Nothern Rhino, named Sudan, shared the plight of the animal on Tinder, the famous social app for meeting people. Users were urged to “Swipe right”, an action that led to a donation page with all the proceeds going towards scientific efforts of species regeneration through in-vitro fertilization (IVF) techniques.

Sudan, the last 3 of a critically endangered species was brought to light by partnerships with Ol Pejeta Conservancy and the Tinder app.

The campaign emerged the winner in 2017 in three categories at the Cannes Lions, a first for an agency in Sub- Saharan Africa. This comes hot on the heels of the haul of awards given to Ogilvy Africa for its work in 2017, globally with 5 Clios (including a Grand Clio), 5 Loeries (Africa), 22 APA Awards (Kenya), 2 MSK Awards (Kenya), 3 PRSK Awards (Kenya) as well as 39 African Cristal (Africa) awards.

This firmly puts Ogilvy Africa in the lead as the most awarded, and Ol Pejeta Conservancy as the most awarded client.
