Quest for Digital Banking Continues as HF Group Launches an App

The Kenyan financial sector is evolving and technology is the main force behind the drastic evolution especially with the advent of mobile and the internet.

Most financial service providers in Kenya have moved to embrace the use of technology through the invention of various mobile apps that enable their customers to access all the services they would get in a normal banking hall.

According to financial analysts, to be able to leverage on regulations, keep up with the disruptions brought about by technology, reduce the cost of operation and compete effectively, firms across the country are leveraging on digital and it seems digital banking is the next frontier for banks and financial institutions.

Banking and financial institutions are adopting the essence of consumer behavior to ensure that they are able to keep up with their preferred preferences for convenience.

User-centric mobile apps are the current take of most financial institutions to leverage their services to their customers.

Almost every financial institution in Kenya now has a mobile app that they use to offer services to their customers. Some of the functions of the mobile apps affiliated to financial institutions include:

  1. Depositing money into accounts
  2. Withdrawing money from accounts
  3. Checking account balance
  4. Taking loans from the institutions
  5. Accessing all other banking activities

On Tuesday, HF Group launched a new digital platform that it hopes would enhance its growth as well maximizing on their customers’ experience.

“HF Group is known for a building heritage. As tech disruption happens across the financial ecosystem, they have no choice but to adapt and build a heritage for digital growth for the choosy client through user experience,” Said Steve Biko Wafula, an economic analyst who had attended the launch.

The platform known as HF Whizz will enable customers to access loans by following seven simple steps with the app set to capitalize on timeliness in terms of loan disbursements to woe clients.
